-What's another way we can organize your computers? What about email? Your Favorite Websites? Your Blog Posts? RSS Feeds? I think emailing can be much smoother then it is i feel it is kind of complicated to send a quick email and if it more organized i think it would be much easier to go on and faster.

Voting closes on Facebook policy changes, only 299 million votes short

  • Facebook's flirtation with democracy has come to an end. If it wants to, the social network can now change its policies without user approval.
  • A weeklong open vote on proposed policy changes, including whether to keep public voting and how data is shared with affiliates such as Instagram, closed Monday.
  • If Facebook goes ahead with its plans, this will be the last such public vote.

  1. Why did you select the sites you subscribed to? They are current events that are important in the world today.
  2. Was it easy to find feeds and to subscribe to them? Not as easy as i thought it would be.
  3. Which sites were your favorites? My favorite site is CNN.
  4. What else can you use RSS feeds for? To keep update on whats going on in the world.
  5. How likely are you to continue to use RSS feeds in the future? If i learn how to do it better i will defiantly use it in the future.
My definition of social bookmarking
Social bookmarking- Is marking a page you are interested in so you don't lose it and so you can go back to it with out typing it in on Google and looking for it on there which can be much harder.

The use of social media really helped these past few weeks involving sandy. Facebook and Twitter helped spread the word of those who needed help and it made it easier to contact family members. The down side to this is most of us had no power or a way to get on Facebook or twitter or any other social network because of power outages and no cell phone service. I experienced not being able to get in touch with one of my friends threw Facebook during Sandy so social media didn't help me as much as i would have liked it to.

how a class wiki can be used in education:
  • We at BRIT use wiki to stimulate the uptake of IT. This wiki is used in class to encourage sharing. We have many wikis on various topics.
  • Our main application: The class is divided into groups of 3-5 people per group. Each group is assigned one page to create and another page to edit, and everyone is encouraged to help on any page. The anatowiki  is the most recent site, and probably the best.
What are the benefits of using a wiki? The benefits of using a wiki are you can share information a lot faster with friends and family without even using email!

How can we create one in this class and utilize it? First we would have to find a website that lets you make one then we could use them in class to send things to each other.

What experience do you have using or creating wikis? I have never used or created a wiki.
